New Adventures Every Year!

View All Post

At Camp, we want campers to have new experiences every week they are here. Whether that looks like challenging themselves on the zipline, living in a cabin with new people, or reading a Bible story in a new way, there is always an adventure going on at Cho-Yeh!

This is Alexander’s 6th summer at Cho-Yeh and his first as a high schooler! Over the years, he has come to appreciate his annual week away in the woods.

“I always try to take things from Camp into my real life,” he says as he explains his relationship with his counselors, “my counselors like to get deep in Bible study and they are just overall great guys.”

Bible Study is one of the areas where Alexander has learned something new this year. Even though he has participated in Bible Studies with his past five cabins, his counselors this summer have introduced new and engaging ways for him to interact with scripture.

“There are different ways to do Bible study than just sitting in a circle together. Sometimes we go in the Treehouse or they let us walk around by ourselves just to think.”

And while Alexander has been growing in his faith this week, he has also gotten reacquainted with all of his favorite activities. We love seeing returner campers rediscover their love for water sports or the rope course!

“I love playing paintball, going on the Lake, and the Adventure Park because I don’t get to do that in my regular life.”

Our variety and quality of activities at Camp give campers unforgettable experiences as well as serving as teachable moments like being courageous on the zipline or being humble at the pickleball courts.

Alexander’s love for Camp is shown in his desire to grow each time he is here. Our hope is that the things he is taking away from Camp continue to build a strong character within him and nurture his relationship with God.
